Q&A

The site does not constitute professional advice but it has the information, I would have loved to know when I was applying so that I could lower my expectations and reduce the subsequent disappointments.

“When you are hummer, everything looks like a nail.”

When I was preparing my application for a Top MBA programme, I spent a lot of time browsing the internet for useful information. All I was finding was only superlatives. Yet, there are many disappointments even in a Top MBA and my course of studies is a top-tier one, standing extremely high in the FT ranking.

While I was making up my mind if a Top MBA is the change in life, I was looking for; I definitely tried to find diverse opinions. It was not possible. Everything on the internet and almost all the people, I spoke with, were saying that this is the greatest experience ever and that it certainly is the necessary step for every high potential. The MBA rankings just proved the impression. I managed to hear only three different opinions that still ring in my head.

The first one I received during one of the Top MBA fairs. I asked one in person of the presenting students if it is worth the money. The answer was:
“If you have two houses and you do not know what to do with one of them and if you really want to do it then you can sell one house and take the course, but otherwise…”

The other two I found in Internet forums. They stated:
“Most of the top executives do not have MBAs.”
“The MBA is an extremely expensive certification programme.”

Everything else was pointing in the other direction, which made me raise too much my expectations and be quite disappointed afterwards. I do not say that the MBA is not good. It is just not what I expected.

To help you make a better judgment about the MBA, here I will discuss:
